Contrary to all preconceptions

Peter Kurt Jonas had his first day of work at DPL in June 2010. He was 61 years old at the time. At the time, he had already applied to numerous companies, but no one wanted to hire him so close to retirement - DPL didn't see this as a problem. After all, why wouldn't they hire an experienced welder?

At the beginning of his career, he got a taste of various companies in the Ruhr region, and in August 2010 he joined the assembly team on the Dutch coast for just under a year. After that, he worked mainly in the Ruhr area again. As an absolute all-rounder in the metal sector, it was never a problem for Peter to step in at short notice, even for just a few days or weeks.

No matter where he was, he impressed with his reliability, knowledge and many years of experience. It is therefore not surprising that DPL's customers explicitly requested him again and again. This gave him the opportunity to choose his assignments.

"I have always been very satisfied with DPL, my work and my colleagues. DPL is reliable, my wages are paid as agreed and always on time!"

At the end of March 2014, DPL retired Peter at the age of 65. However, Peter was not really happy and decided to continue working for a few more years. So in July 2020, after carrying out smaller jobs for other companies in the meantime, he signed another contract with DPL.

He continued to work as a fitter and welder at the second attempt. Many customers remembered him and so it was again no problem to place Peter with his desired customer.

At the end of 2023, Peter decided to give retirement another try - he left the DPL at the end of January 2024.

In his almost 9 years at DPL, he was able to present himself to over 30 customers and ultimately choose his favorites - just the right thing for him!

In his second attempt, he can finally enjoy his retirement. He celebrated his golden wedding anniversary in 2023 and is already working towards a few more wedding anniversaries, as he wants to be 116 years old.
